About Joe

I moved to Tennessee in 2007 and began working 8 years at Fairfield Glade in building maintenance and then I was promoted to the position of ACC Inspector. As such, I became well versed in FFG's restrictions and area. After I left that position I did not take to retirement well and tried my hand at Security. That job was somewhat less then acceptable so I decided on a new career as a Real Estate Agent. I began working as an agent at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Southern Realty and I do enjoy meeting people and helping them to find their dream home.

My history such that it is: at 17 years old I joined the US Navy and became a Sonar Technician. The Navy sent me to many schools where I learned to program in COBOL and FORTRAN to be able to maintain the Navy's systems. I ended my service in 1981. Over the next several years I worked in many different positions as I went to college at night in order to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering. After 20 years of working and college I used my degree and became a Design Release Engineer for General Motors. During this time America was attacked with 9-11 so I returned to military service through the National Guard. I began refocusing my attention on education and learned how to program computers in Basic and Visual Basic, I also learned SQL (Structure Query Language) and its uses for programming mainframe computer systems. I worked in the Administrative field for 5 years in the Guard here and abroad. I then moved to Tennessee and was transferred to the Crossville unit of the National Guard a Tank Company of the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment. I remained in that unit until I deployed to Iraq. While in Iraq it was determined that all forces would be redeployed back the the US. I did an in theater extension and was transferred to the 1st Theater Support Command. This unit was in charge of all logistics for the soldiers in Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan. It was my job to submit to Central Command troop strength for our units and to create all the awards to be given for the units of our command. During that time I noticed that unit strengths were not accurate. I wrote an easy to use database that auto updated for every unit and instructed the units on its use. After that unit strengths were precise and logistics could be better planned to encompass all the soldiers that were present in theater. I remained deployed with this unit for 2 years before returning from Kuwait to Tennessee. After my return I was promoted and reassigned to the Headquarters unit of the 278th ACR where I was placed as the Armored Liaison Sergeant. I remained in that position until my retirement in 2017 as a Staff Sergeant in the National Guard.
